Billie Eilish’s presence on stage was not only one of the most applauded of the festival’s closing day but of the entire Estéreo Picnic, which ended early Monday morning in Bogotá.
The 21-year-old artist, born in Los Angeles, began her performance around 11:15 PM and continued almost until 1:00 AM, with the rendition of the song “Bury a Friend.”
Her setlist included songs like “I Didn’t Change My Number,” “NDA,” and “Therefore I Am,” on a day filled with high expectations, especially after the disappointment many attendees felt following Drake’s show on Saturday, which, just like at Lollapalooza Chile, fell short of any expectations in Bogotá.
The fans who arrived at the Briceño Golf Course in Bogotá highlighted the way the singer dominates the stage.
One of the most applauded moments of the night was when she joined Dave Grohl to perform “My Hero,” one of Foo Fighters’ hits, in tribute to the late Taylor Hawkins. This was followed by a moment when someone from the audience threw a Colombian flag to her.
The artist took the flag and began to wave it while walking around the stage, eventually covering herself with it. That’s how she ended her performance in Bogotá.
Undoubtedly, Billie Eilish’s performance, along with those of the coastal Alci Acosta, Morat, and Bizarrap, were among the most applauded of the four days of Estéreo Picnic 2023.
After the festival ended, the overall assessment was more than positive. However, aside from some disappointments on stage, such as Drake’s, there were complaints from several bands about the delay in reaching the stage, which took more than four hours due to traffic congestion for entry and exit.
